Written June 6th.

After three years of not going anywhere, finally there seems to be improvement with Oscar.

After numorous visits at different vets our hopes of seing him recover were getting fading away. Our vet through the last 14 years claimed that his symptoms had nothing to do with allergies - without ever having taken any tests on him. We found a new place where they took tests and they discovered that he sufferd from three different types of allergies – two types of mites and one kind of yeast.

However the treatment he recieved (immunotherapy) was not right – Doses were too low and we did not see any improvement at all – at times he even got worse.
One time I rushed him to the vet because his skin was covered in itchy bloody sores – Without testing anything (and knowing about his allergies), she told me it was scabies. He redieved treatment, but obviously did not get any better.

Seing that he did not improove, we had some serious discussions about putting him to sleep if he did not get better – We are not willing to let him go through a life with pain he obviously has recieving medication and going to the vet almost every month throughout his life.

A couple of weeks after visiting the vet, my dear mother found out that some of his fur was missing on his  left hind leg. He bit it off and his skin was covered in bloody sores.. this was a huge schock to us all and it really made it clear to us how much pain he was in.

There was no chance that we wanted to loose our wonderful little boy. After what we had been through at the current vet clinic we decided we did not want to stay because we had not seen any improvement.
We tried one more time and this time I was able to find a dermatoligist online – Known in most of Europe and has held courses in both Germany and Austria.

We then visited the dermatoligist and our first session lasted 1½ hours - he told us everything we needed to know about allergies – more than we were alble to find online or ever heard from the previous vet.

Just by looking at his skin, he was able to see what he was suffering from – “Bull’s Eye”. We got some antibiotics, shampoo, oil and a list of things that we needed to until our next visit.

After three weeks we came back and Oscar had done a huge improvement. A bloodsample was taken and the results were the same – Only this time was to see if more types had developed. Luckily the answer was no.

We started a new treatment - Again with immunotherapy and hoped for the best. Normally it takes a dog about eight weeks to react on the cure. Surprisingly Oscar already showed a huge improvement after only four weeks.

Our sessions at the vet are never less than 30 min. and he tells us everything we need to know – By statistics as well as why and how things have improved..

Oscar is doing better and I hope it will continue..

June 5th I noticed he had sores on his hind legs/tail. It turned out to get worse and he recieved some medical care.

Today June 21th he is doing better. His sores are more or less healing up and he has not had ear infections for quite some time, but until now it has seemed like he has been recovering and suddenly gotten ill... He still scratches a lot and this is why the sores keep on coming and going – We just wonder why his skin keeps on being itchy.

I hope he will get well and that these strange symptoms will disappear for good.

Today June 29th he’s doing fine. He does not scratch himself as often as he usually does and his next visit to the vet is this Friday.
